Retake Policy

Candidates who do not pass an assessment may retake it. If you wish to retake an assessment, you must complete the registration process again. For information about the number of days you must wait before retaking an assessment, select the assessment from the list below.

Retake Vouchers

Starting September 1, 2022, fourth-attempt retake vouchers will be provided at no cost to candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Beginning with a September 1, 2022, or later test date, candidates who have taken the same OAE test with the same test code three times and achieved a test-specific scaled score as indicated below on at least one of those attempts will receive a test fee voucher to use for registering for a fourth attempt of that test.
• Any test attempt prior to September 1, 2022, will not count toward a voucher. Each candidate is eligible for up to one voucher for each test; if you have already received a retake voucher for a specific test, you will not be eligible for another retake voucher for that same test.
• Test fee vouchers will be emailed to eligible candidates up to two weeks after the release of their score for their third attempt. You do not need to contact Customer Service to request a voucher.
