Selected-Response Questions

For selected-response questions, your answers are scored and then verified before your scores are reported. Therefore, further rescoring is not offered.

Constructed-Response Assignments

All constructed responses are scored according to standardized procedures. Scorers with relevant professional backgrounds are oriented to these procedures and are carefully monitored during scoring sessions. As part of the scoring process, all constructed responses are scored by multiple scorers and therefore have essentially already been rescored.

However, if you wish to have your constructed response(s) reevaluated, you may request a score verification for any of the OAE assessments that you have taken since April 26, 2022. NOTE: The score verification service is not available if you have passed the assessment.

The fee for the score verification service is $55.

To request a score verification. A request for a score verification can be submitted online using the Score Verification Request Form. You must submit your request for this service within 60 calendar days of the score report date. Payment must be made by a credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) or a debit or check card that carries the VISA or MasterCard logo and that can be used without the entry of a personal identification number (PIN).

Resolution. In the event that the score verification process results in a score alteration for the constructed response, you will be issued a corrected score report, and your records will be updated.

• If your constructed-response score alteration results in a passing status for the assessment, your score verification fee will be refunded.
• If your constructed-response score is altered but does not result in a change in the passing status for the assessment, your score verification fee will not be refunded.

If the original score is confirmed, you will be sent an email indicating that the score has been confirmed. In this case, your score verification fee will not be refunded.

The results of the score verification process will be available within eight (8) weeks after receipt of your request and payment for a score verification for the Special Education Specialist: Visually Impaired assessment and within six (6) weeks for all other eligible assessments.
